Bobbie Dell Flowers

Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Flowers, 81, of Centerville and formerly of Houston, will be held at 3 P.M., Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Rev. Ray Payne, pastor of Ephesus Baptist Church, will officiate and interment will follow in the Sardis Cemetery near Jewett. A public visitation will be held from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Saturday, August 13th at the funeral home.

Bobbie Dell Flowers was born on October 12, 1934 in Teague, Texas to Marion Otis & Frankie Jane (Evans) Gibson. In her younger years, Bobbie and her sisters and mother would sing every Sunday in church. They always enjoyed their times singing together. While living in Houston, Bobbie worked for the F.W. Woolworth Company, first as a cashier, then working her way up to flower arranger and designer and eventually bookkeeper. When she moved to Centerville in 1983, Bobbie began work for the Days Inn Motel and stayed there for about twelve years. When she was able, Bobbie attended the Tri Circle Ranch Christian Center, south of Centerville. In her spare time, Bobbie loved to crochet and cook. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Bobbie passed away on August 11, 2016 in Shenandoah, Texas following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; first husband, Cisrow Sim Martin; sisters, Dessie Clute, Bonnie Clute & Cathy Green; brother, Melvin Gibson, granddaughter, Paula Murphy and step-son, Dirk Flowers.

Surviving family members include husband of twenty-four years, Edgar Flowers of Centerville; son, Kenneth Ray (Kathleen) Martin of Houston; daughters, Peggy (George) Reynolds of Centerville and Sherry (Don) Johnson of Jewett; step-children, Randy & Buddy Flowers & Bonnie Koshier; brothers, Troy Gibson of Nixon & Robert Gibson of Beaumont and sister, Nelda Feller of Waco. Bobbie is also survived by grandchildren, Kenny Martin Jr., Krystal Martin, Autumn Johnson & Donielle Johnson; great granddaughter, Chelsea (Robert) Stanford & great grandchildren, Tyler, Audrey & Jauslyn.

Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.
