Earnest Lee Ferguson, Sr.

Funeral services for Earnest Lee Ferguson, Sr, age 94, of the Keechi Community east of Buffalo have been set for 2 pm, Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home. Bro. Jack Smith, pastor of the Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood, will officiate and burial will follow in the Ferguson Family Cemetery in Keechi. A visitation is scheduled the evening before the service from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home. Walters Buffalo Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Earnest Ferguson was born in Buffalo, Texas on January 5, 1922 to Thurman and Cassie (Peterson) Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was a lifelong resident of Buffalo and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Keechi. He was a former BISD School Board Trustee. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Bernice Ferguson; by a sister, Jessie Mae Hayden and by two infant brothers. Mr. Ferguson passed away in Keechi on Thursday evening, October 13, 2016.
His surviving family includes his son and daughter-in-law, Earnest Ernie and Pam Ferguson of Buffalo; a brother and sister-in-law, Pleaze and Betty Ferguson of Buffalo; six grandchildren, Ashley Dutton (husband, Earl), Katee Sullivan (husband, Derrick), Karlee Bell (husband, Aaron), Kylan Ferguson, Gracie Ferguson, and Gabbie Ferguson; four great grandchildren, Drennan Sullivan, Elliot Sullivan, Emerson Bell and Keegan Hunt and many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers: Thomas Davis, Jan Mol, Wesley Henson, Aaron Bell, Derrick Sullivan and Harvey McDougal. Serving as honorary pallbearers: Sammy Johnson, David Ferguson, Kenneth Ferguson, Ray Ferguson, Paul Ferguson, Harry Ferguson, Robert Rollins, Bro. Lee Weiler, Doyle Sapp, Slick Long and James Henson.
