William Ray Bill McGuire, Jr. was born on August 25, 1939 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to William, Sr. & Hazel (Robinson) McGuire. He was married to his wife, Dorene Sturmon, on March 10, 1959 and would have celebrated fifty-eight years together this March. Bill worked as a superintendent in the oil business and was an extremely dedicated and hard working man. Although Bill spent a lot of time at work, he still always found opportunities to spend time with his two girls, and later, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some of Bills favorite pastimes were teaching all of the many children that entered his life how to rodeo, fish and hunt, and taking them for a ride on his tractor. Bill, himself, had participated in team roping in various rodeos, as well as fished and hunted on a regular basis. All of these activities were things that he cherished, and Bill wanted to pass that love down to the proceeding generations to enjoy, as well. He always knew each childs fondness for a certain hobby and did his best to help that certain individual become better at that particular hobby until it eventually became their hobby, togetherthe one thing that Bill and that child would do as a team that no other child was able to do with him. Bill was the glue that connected his whole family together. He was continuous giver to the community, especially the many youth of the area. Bill had lived in Centerville since 1987 and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. He passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his home. Bill was preceded in death by both of his parents.
