Kevin Bruce Coddington

Kevin B. Coddington was born on July 27, 1952 and died suddenly at his home on April 9, 2017 at the age of 64.

Kevin was born in Stevens Point,Wisconsin to Melvern G. and Lois G. (Sherman) Coddington. He grew up on a farm in Montello, Wisconsin where he ran thefarm for his parents from his early teen years. He graduated from Montello High School and attended Trinity College in Deerfield, IL. He returned to the family farm until he bought his own a few miles away. He married Darlene Jones on June 23, 1973. To this union 4 children were born: Gregory, Douglas, Michael, and Janelle.

He and his wife purchased Coddington Hardware in Oxford Wisconsin from his parents, which they ran together while he farmed until the marriage dissolved. He worked at Brakebush Brothers and drove a school bus to supplement the farm income.

On July 18, 2008, he married Roberta (Bobbie) Churchill. They later sold the farm and moved to Buffalo, Texas, where they raised horses and cattle, and did custom hay harvesting.

Kevin had a very strong faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Buffalo,Texas where he loved to help wherever he could. He and Bobbie were members of East Texas Mounted Search and Rescue Team. He was long known for his strong work ethic, but also enjoyed trail riding both for pleasure and competition, hunting, and especially fishing.
He was a certified scuba instructor.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Mel and brother in law Scott Barber. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie of Buffalo, Texas, his mother Lois Coddington of Mission, Texas, siblings: Paula (Joe) Ranney, of Poulsbo, Wa, Mel W. (Tina) Coddington of Mission, Texas, Curt (Joan) Coddington of Seward, Nebraska, and Brian (Mary) Coddington of Montello, Wisconsin; sisters in law Cheryl Crissell of Zephyrhill, Florida and Barb Barber of Edgewater, Maryland; brothers in law: James (Melody) Churchill of Mesa, Arizona, and Doug (Susan) Barber of North Beach, Maryland. Three sons: Greg (Kori) of Endeavor, Wisconsin, Doug (Hannah) of Wausau, Wisconsin, Mike (Laurie) of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; one daughter: Janelle (Dennis) Schmidtke of Portage, Wisconsin; one step son, Tim Arnold of Madison, Wisconsin, ten grand children and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is on Monday, April 17 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at First Baptist Church of Buffalo, TX followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Wisconsin.

Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.
