Obituary

Arqueta Evelynee "Kita" Haynie, 94, passed away on November 26, 2022 in Temple, Texas. She was born on May 6, 1928 to Chief and Minnie Martha Powell in Aransas Pass, Texas. To her amusement, Kita loved casually "picking and grinning", watching "her cowboys" on the western channel and attending All Around Cowboy Church in Marquez, Texas.


Kita was preceded in death by both of her parents; first husband, Riley Bruce; second husband, B A Haynie; sons, Allen Bruce and Larry Bruce and ten siblings. Left to cherish her memory include, sons, Ray Bruce (Sarena) of Holland and Michael Bruce (Adrienne) of Thornton; daughter-in-law, Pam Bruce of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one sister, Dellene Jansen of Granbury.


A funeral service for Kita will be at 1 P.M., Friday, December 2, 2022 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Pastor Lee Weiler will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Greenbriar Cemetery, Madison County, Texas. A public visitation will take place Thursday, December 1st from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.


Pallbearers: Chris Bruce, Tracy Bruce, Nicholas Bruce, Michael Bruce, Samuel Jamieson, Kirby Fiebig


Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
