Brandon Charles Prahm

July 7, 1985 — June 24, 2020

Brandon Charles Prahm was born on July 7th, 1985 in Placentia, CA. At three years old his family moved to Centerville and he attended Centerville daycare. His parents, James Prahm and Gaylene Moomey-Prahm, opened a Home Discount Center in town. After school he spent time cooking with his mamo, Erin Moomey, and ranching with his pappo, Chuck Moomey. Throughout the years Brandon split his time between Centerville and California, but always came back every summer to stay with his grandparents. Some of his best memories in Centerville were spending time with the Dunn boys and learning how to rope calves, but Brandon had a passion for motorcycles and started racing motocross at the age of 10. Always a hard worker, at age 11 Brandon started working construction in California for his dad after school. He eventually worked for his dad full time. Other jobs included working for MTA in Norco, California, and he also went on to work for Secure Net in Houston, Texas while he still kept up his passion for racing.

Brandon earned eight AMA Amateur National titles and hundreds of trophies in motocross racing before he turned pro. In 2007 he was involved in a major motorcycle accident which paralyzed him, but being as determined as he was, he learned to walk again and was back on a bike within eight months. Still pursuing his passion for motocross, in 2009 he started his motocross school 765 MX School. He trained youth and adults with his motocross skills and techniques. He had numerous clients go on to qualify, as well as win the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Championship and National AMA Championships around the world. Brandon was always highly visible on the track with his bright blue eyes, long beard, overalls and cowboy hat. Everyone always had enough to eat at the track because he cooked up tritip, chicken, and hotdogs for his team. Brandon lived a very full, fast paced and exciting life but his favorite times would be when he would come back to his family ranch in Centerville almost monthly to spend time with his mom, his Catahoula dog, Auto Charles, and his aunt, Charlene and uncle, Patrick Hargrove. He loved the time he had here sitting on the porch watching over the ranch, fishing, smoking meats and enjoying the country life.

The impact Brandon made on so many peoples lives was undeniable. He was the guy that would be there at any time of day or night to help a friend in need. The stories and memories heard from his friends are endless, with over 20 from California coming to Texas to say goodbye. A Celebration of Life was held in California for and the turn-out was unimaginable with over 200 people. This is a link to the video on YouTube from Brandon’s celebration of life if you would like to view it. (Celebrating the life of Brandon Prahm https://youtu.be/woSdbKW0iRg).
