Carl Wayne Edwards

Graveside services for Carl Edwards, age 73, will be held 10:45 A.M., Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Chris McCarthy will officiate the service. Military funeral honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.

Carl Wayne Edwards was born March 4, 1947 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Bueford E. Edwards & Silva (Cardin) Edwards Hickman. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and worked as a machinist. Carl enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, traveling and watching westerns on television. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed going out to eat where he would buy ice cream for random strangers.

Carl passed away July 20, 2020 at his home in Centerville. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; step-father, Cecil Hickman and brother, Thomas Edwards. Carl is survived by brother, Coy Ray Edwards & wife, Doloris of Houston and sister, Lila Buckner of Centerville, as well as nephews, Thomas Edwards, Jr. & Joseph “C.B.” Buckner. He is also survived by numerous nieces.
