Elizabeth Broomfield was born on November 19, 1927 in Rosenberg, Texas to Jose Angel & Marie (De La Cruz) Enriquez. She lived in the rural Leona area for fifty years where she and her husband owned and operated the Lazy B Exotic Animal Ranch. They were both supporters of the EWA and its causes, where Liz served on the Board of Directors as Membership Chairman. Liz loved nature and raising animals. Usually her activities outdoors led to her finding orphaned or injured animals where she, without hesitation, would take them under her wing and nurture them back to health.

When she wasnt busy at the ranch, Liz enjoyed traveling. She was a world traveler and took trips as often as she could. Liz also enjoyed dancing, crocheting and working on jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #157 in Buffalo, Leon County Extension Club and Leona Church Quilting Club. Additionally, Liz was a faithful member of the Leona Methodist Church in Leona where she sang in the choir and attended numerous singings in the area. No matter what Liz was doing or where she was going, she always made a point to be well dressed.

Liz passed away on August 1, 2017 in Shenandoah, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Broomfield and brother, Pete Enriquez. Surviving family members include daughters, Linda Curington & husband, Ron of Shenandoah, Patsy Broomfield of Leona and Mary Fox & husband, Boyd of Magnolia and brother, Antonio Yanez of Houston. Liz is also survived by grandchildren, Melinda & Stephen Camp, David & Erin Curington, Heather & Jeff Woods, Brandon & Amanda Fox and Ron Curington, Jr. and great grandchildren, Lainey Murphy; Christopher, Cameron & Ashley Camp; Kendall Curington; Olivia, Walker & Eliana Woods and Preston Fox.
