Elvis Big E Jones, age 64, of Palestine, passed away on November 19, 2016 in Tyler, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Oxford Cemetery, west of Madisonville. A public visitation will take place on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until 12 noon at the Madisonville Funeral Home.

Elvis Lee Jones was born on May 28, 1952 in Fukaoka, Japan to Melvin Ray & Katie (Pevateaux) Jones. He grew up in Baytown and had served his country in the U.S. Navy. Elvis was affectionately known by most as Big E. He had worked for the city of Baytown as a backhoe operator. Big E had lived in Madisonville for about a year before moving to Huntsville and then to Palestine. When he was able, Big E enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling.

Big E was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Misty Michelle Jones of Baytown; brother, Tom Jones of Huntsville; half-brother, David Weber; half-sister, Julie Heinsheimer of Rolling Hills, California and four grandchildren.
