Geralene Rae "Gerry" Wright

Graveside services for Gerry Wright, age 89, of the Redland Community of Leon County, will be held 1 P.M., Monday, September 17, 2018 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas. The family will receive friends Friday, September 14th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.

Geralene Rae “Gerry” Wright was born November 3, 1928 in Tenaha, Texas, an identical twin sister to Charlene. Gerry loved being a twin and was always proud of her sister. She began work for Western Union making telegram deliveries and retired as a manager. Gerry was married to her husband, Homer, for sixty-eight years. In November of 1983, they moved to Centerville to start their life in the country. She became a member of First Baptist Church in Centerville and was active on the hostess committee, as well as, librarian, Sunday School teacher and Missionary Friends teacher. Gerry enjoyed gardening, baking and word search puzzles and was a football fan of all Texas teams.

Gerry passed away September 10, 2018 in Bryan, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pennie “Sissy” Nail and husband, Homer Wright. Surviving family members include twin sister, Charlene Simpson of Brookshire; special niece and caregiver, Cindy Spurling of Magnolia and a host of other beloved nieces and nephews.
