Kellye Jo Tuxen

August 22, 1963 — May 21, 2021

Kellye Oliver Tuxen, who passed from this worldly life on May 21, 2021, after a fierce fight with cancer, was born in Midland, Texas on August 22, 1963, to Sheila and Wallace Oliver. The family moved to Houston in 1966, then to the Alief area, then to The Woodlands, where she graduated from McCullough High School in 1981. Kellye became a Registered Dental Hygienist after attending Lamar University and practiced for thirty-five years. Kellye married Colin Tuxen and they had one son, Cody Eric Tuxen.

The Tuxens eventually made their home in the country near Centerville Texas. Kellye was able to pursue her love of horses in this setting. She was vey active in her church, North Creek Baptist, and was a friend to all the congregation. She was regular in the East Texas Mounted Search and Rescue until illness prevented her participation. In all of her life Kellye was never a quitter, she always gave 100%!

Kellye was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Oliver and her brother, Forrest Oliver. She is survived by her mother, Sheila Oliver; her husband, Colin Tuxen; her son and his wife, Cody and Lauren Tuxen, and their child Sloan Wallace Tuxen, Kellye's grandson who she loved beyond bounds.

A memorial service honoring Kellye's life will be held 1 P.M., Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the East Texas Mounted Search and Rescue (EMSR).
