Burial will follow at Marquez Cemetery. A public visitation will be on the evening of Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
Kevin was born in Port Arthur, Texas and moved to Houston, Texas in his early grade school years, then moved to Buffalo in the early 1980's working in the oil/gas industry. In 1984, he hired on with power plant HL&P, and retired in 2021 due to health issues.
He married Hollie on June 20, 1998, lived in Robbins until 2018, then moved to Lake Limestone with plans to retire on the lake.
Kevin's hobbies included woodworking, fishing, being outdoors, and his grandchildren, who lovingly knew him as "Pappy." Pappy could also be found out in his workshop- he could fix or build just about anything. His grandkids looked forward to learning and doing all things with Pappy, his patience was unmatched. Pappy adored his grandchildren and they all adored him. He coached little league for many years and was always dedicated to pouring into his kids and grandkids.
Kevin was known by all for his kind and gentle spirit. He would do anything to help someone and always lent a helping hand. Kevin was an optimist and often the voice of reason in any situation. He was well respected by all who knew him, particularly by his family. He was the rock they leaned on and a Godly example of humanity and compassion. He was a simple man who valued loyalty and honesty above materialism or status. His loss will leave a tremendous void in all of our lives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Griffith. Left to cherish his memory include his father, Walter Griffith of Alvin, Texas; wife, Hollie Griffith of Marquez, Texas; sons, Kevin Griffith (Miranda) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Nathan Watson (Darla) of Devine, Texas; daughters, Holly Griffith Terrell of Pearland, Texas, Whitney Griffith Phillips of Victoria, Texas, Micha Watson of Marquez, Texas, and Dannie Watson of Marquez, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, Evelyn Terrell, Georgia Terrell, Miller Hines, Dylan Griffith, Devyn Griffith, Fisher Hines, Orian Phillips, Mason Phillips, Adalyn Watson, Dakota Watson, Erin Watson, Lanie Clary, Darcie Dudley and Josie Reed; brother, Kurt (Paula) Griffith of Alvin, Texas; sisters, Kelly (Tony) Bess of Alvin, Texas and Karrie (Mark) Peevler of Fayetteville, Texas; mother-in-law, Sue Brown of Marquez, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
