Lillian Pierce, age 90, of Centerville, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of April 19, 2019 in Bryan, Texas following a brief illness. A celebration of her life will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Bro. Louis Mize will officiate the service. Mrs. Pierce will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Billy, in the Centerville Cemetery. The Pierce family will receive friends Monday, April 22nd from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Lucy “Lillian” (Robinson) Pierce was born February 5, 1929 in the Ridge Community of Leon County, Texas. Her parents were William Bryan & Ouida (Ward) Robinson. She lived most of her life in Centerville and was a devout Christian and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Centerville. Anyone who knew Lillian knew that she loved to cook and bake food for others and was always available to help a person in need. Although, she never asked for help doing so, nor did she want it. She was perfectly capable of doing it herself! Lillian was a homemaker her whole life and loved taking care of her family and extended family. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds and gardening.
Lillian was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Billy Pierce; brothers, Jack W., Ersel P., Elton Ray, Marshall Cotton, Stanley & Lindberg Robinson; sister, Ruth Pierce and granddaughter, Joni Hammock.
Surviving family members include sons, Tommy Pierce of Centerville & Bobby Pierce (Sharon) of Centerville; daughter, Patricia Hammock (Eddie) of Centerville; sister, Lyndall Hale of Bryan; grandchildren, Chris Pierce (Shalesha); Bonnie Swindell (Justin), Drew Pierce, Sarah Stone (Ryan) and Jeremy Hammock (Morgan), as well as, great-grandchildren, Clayton Stone, Carter Stone, Asa Pierce, Kaede Thomas & Lonnie Hammock. Lillian is also survived by her beloved border collie, Tippy.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
