Martin Henry Grimes

A memorial funeral service for Martin Henry Buck Grimes, 87, of Marquez has been set for 2:00 PM, Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville, Texas. A brief visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 to the time of the service on the same day. Mr. Grimes passed away on October 15, 2016 at the Centerville Healthcare Center.

Buck Grimes was born on October 22, 1928 in Flynn, Texas, the son of Henry and Ruth (Copeland) Grimes. He was raised in Leon County before moving to Houston. In 1985, he moved back to Leon County. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed ranching and taking care of his cows. He worked for several years for Leon County Precinct 4 as a heavy equipment operator. He played dominoes every Sunday with his wife and father-in-law. Buck was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen (Douthitt) Grimes; three daughters, Karen, Tammy and Robin and a son, Ricky Warner.


He is survived by grandson, Jeremy Warner of Dickinson, Texas; granddaughter, Brittney Bockmon of Marquez; grandson, Zachary Miller of Centerville; grandson, Kelley McFarland of San Antonio; granddaughter, Kristen Strahan of Huffman, Texas; granddaughter, Jade Kocurek Matthews of Tomball; great grandchildren, Aubrie, Landon, Jaydon, Race, Ainslee, Wesley, Kayla, Trevor, Haidyn, Chandler, Christopher, Shawn, Peyton and Jeremy Warner, Jr.; one great grandchild on the way and a great great grandson, River.
