Melba Jo (Parker) Ellis

Funeral services for Melba Jo (Parker) Ellis, age 70, of Slidell, Louisiana, will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery, Oakwood, Texas. Richard Heard will officiate the service and Fred Weisinger will present the eulogy.

Melba Jo (Parker) Ellis was born on June 8, 1949, in Oakwood, Texas to Sidney & Thelma (Weisinger) Parker. She was a Baptist by faith and a resident of Palestine, Texas until she later moved to Slidell, Louisiana. Melba Jo passed away on May 3, 2020, in Slidell, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and siblings, Ronald Ray Robinson, brother and Mary Carolyn Schmidt, sister.

Surviving family include, husband, Terry Ellis; daughter, Joanna Gore; son, Jerry Keith Johnson; sisters, Jackie Stanley (Jerry) and Diana Kelly (Rex); brother, James Parker Haston; grandchildren, Tanner Gore, Jaden Gore, Ashton Johnson Griffin (Ryan), Weston Johnson, Parker Johnson and great-grandchild, Sawyer Johnson.

Pallbearers: Jerry Stanley, Shane Gill, James Toland, Nathan Smith, Dudley Loupe, Fred Weisinger

Honorary Pallbearers: Tanner Gore, Winston Johnson, Jaden Gore, Ashton Griffin, Rex Kelly
