Norman Allen Folsom

October 30, 1941 — February 4, 2017

Funeral services for Norman Folsom, 75, of Houston, will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Pastor Keith Atkinson will officiate the service, and interment will follow in the Madisonville City Cemetery. A visitation will be held from noon until service time at the funeral home on February 11th.

Pallbearers will be Cody Walker, Hal Scoggins, Joshua Donaldson, Jeremy Donaldson, Russell Merchant & Daniel Haggans. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Walker, Jerry Don Folsom, Damon Long, & Roy C. Long, Jr.

Norman Allen Folsom was born on October 30, 1941 in North Zulch, Texas to Aubry Allen & Martha Elizabeth (Cubstead) Folsom. He was raised in North Zulch and graduated as a Valedictorian of his class of sixteen in 1959. Following graduation, he attended Blinn Jr. College. Mr. Folsom worked on the pipeline for ten years before joining the U.S. Army. He served his country from 1964-1966 and was stationed stateside during the Vietnam War. After his service, he went back to work on the pipeline.

Norman moved to Houston in 1968 and was married to Billye Maurice Sharp on November 1, 1969. He enjoyed fishing and loved NASCAR. In fact,he worked on a pit crew the weekend of his wedding.

Norman Folsom passed away on February 4, 2017 in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Billye Folsom and brothers, Morris & Bobby Folsom & Brother-in-law, Donald E. Booty. Surviving family members include daughters, Monica Donaldson (Michael) of Houston and Tanya Walker (James) of Katy; brother, Jerry Don Folsom(Linda) of Normangee and sister, Joyce Ann Booty of College Station. Mr. Folsom is also survived by grandchildren, Cody, Joshua (Nicole), Jeremy and Jessica and great grandchildren, Tayden, Eli and Emma.

Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.
