Patricia Ann "Pat" Goolsby

Funeral services for Pat Goolsby, age 69, will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Bro. Dean Easterling, pastor of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Centerville, will officiate the service followed by interment in Centerville Cemetery. The Goolsby family will receive friends Tuesday evening, February 4th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Patricia Ann Goolsby was born March 17, 1950 in Marquez, Texas to Johnnie W. & Alyne C. (Calhoun) Mathews. She was raised in Marquez and was a graduate of Leon I.S.D. Pat had lived in Centerville for the past eighteen years, coming from Jewett and had worked at the Leon County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office.

Pat loved, more than anything, watching her grandchildren play in their various sporting activities. She loved her entire family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. She was also extremely fond of her dogs and was an excellent cook. Additionally, Pat enjoyed playing the domino game of “forty-two.”

Pat passed away unexpectedly at her home, February 1, 2020. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; daughter, Meredith Ann and brother, James Wesley Mathews.

Pat will be forever cherished by husband, Noal Ray Goolsby of Centerville; son, Steven Goolsby & wife, Kristi of Centerville; daughter, Kim Hancock & husband, Jeffery of Centerville; brothers, John A. Mathews & wife, Linda of Ann and Danny Mathews & wife, Linda of Jewett and sister, Elane Eaton of Cape Giradeau, MO. She will also be remembered by adoring grandchildren Trevor & Tara Goolsby and Avery & Paxton Hancock, as well as, a host of nieces and nephews.
