Ronald Wayne Shores

September 19, 1962 — January 15, 2021

Ronald Wayne Shores, of Centerville, Texas, perished in a tragic tractor accident while working at home on January 15, 2021. He was born September 19, 1962 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was fifty-eight years young at the time of death.

Ronnie grew up in Pasadena, Texas and started his first flooring business there called ‘Bare Wood Floors’. In the later years, he renamed it to ‘Floors by the Shores’. His specialty was creating unique and customized wood patterns for his floor customers. After thirty years of doing that for others, he finally finished his own custom stairs in the house that he built in Centerville! He was also passionate about cars and racing them! From building model cars as a young boy to racing his 1978 Ford Mustang Fastback, cars were a source of joy for him. Music was another passion of his. He had a very eclectic taste in genres that he enjoyed listening to. He played guitar growing up but as an adult he learned he loved to sing….and boy could he sing!

Ronnie would sing anything and anywhere. Most of the time he would cut up by changing the lyrics to songs just to make others, and himself, laugh! He had no problem chuckling at himself and his goofiness. On the serious side, he enjoyed singing in church whenever given the opportunity. He enjoyed being part of a church family. He was a member of Austin Ave. Baptist Church growing up and at the time of passing, he was a member of The First Baptist Church in Buffalo, Texas. One of the last things he was excited about was having “prayer on the square” in Centerville. He was not ashamed of his personal relationship with Christ and shared Him often with others. His heart was huge, and he showed compassion to others.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Corriene Shores. He is survived by his wife of eight years, Pamela Varnell Shores of Centerville, Texas; step-daughter, Melissa (Jose) Garza and their children, David, Emma and Olivia of Freeport, Texas; sisters Brenda Shores of Deer Park, Texas and Lisa Crawford of Pasadena, Texas. Along with a niece and several nephews. He also leaves behind a pack of misfit dogs that he loved and cared for daily. We know they are going to miss him as much as we do.
