Virginia G. Bass

Virginia G. Ginny Bass was born in Normangee on September 6, 1933. Her parents were Henry L. and Eva A. (Lawson) Grigory. Ginny was Baptist in faith. She moved to Houston in 1950 and lived all but the last five years of her life there. She graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in accounting. She was a certified professional secretary and worked for the Exxon Company. She enjoyed gardening and, later in her life, she became interested in the genealogy of her family. Ginny was preceded in death by her parents and by her nine brothers and sisters: Edmund Grigory, Flora Buetcher, Lewis Grigory, Lawrence Grigory, Lester Grigory, Francis Fox, Hubert Grigory, Sybil Gilbert, Thomas Grigory. She passed away in Huntsville on September 9, 2016.

Surviving family includes two sons, Erik Nilsen and wife, Melissa, of Santa Clarita, California and Stephen Koestler of Riverside, Texas; a daughter, Anna Wecht and her husband, Daniel, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and five grandchildren, Sophie, Gabriel, Sarah, Ethan and Jessica.

Graveside funeral services are set for 1 pm, Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Plainview Cemetery. Bro. Glenn Connor will officiate. A visitation will be held at the Madisonville Funeral Home from 10 am until 12 noon on the day of the service. Madisonville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
