Virginia Katherine (Woodiel) Rosier was born in Freeport, Texas April 1, 1942 to parents, Clifton Coy & Katherine (Palmer) Woodiel. She raised her family in Jones Creek where she worked at the Sonshine Book and Gift Shop in Lake Jackson. Virginia truly enjoyed her years of service at the bookstore.

Virginia loved the Lord and went to school to become an ordained minister. She served as a co-pastor with her husband, James, at several Leon County churches. Together they would minister to the lost and had the pleasure of leading many people to Christ. Virginia enjoyed singing in the choir. She owned a grand piano when her children were younger and spent many hours playing and singing. Even when she was stricken with dementia in her later years, Virginia would often sing songs walking up and down the hallways of the nursing home while visiting with her husband and family. In her younger years, Virginia enjoyed gardening, canning and was an expert seamstress, quilter and embroiderer.

Virginia passed away September 21, 2020 in Tyler, Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; brother, Cliff Woodiel and husband, Charles Tanner. Surviving family members include loving husband of over ten years, James Rosier of Centerville; children, Valerie (Harvey) Wood of Centerville, Carl Tanner of Brazoria and Katherine Serna of Jones Creek; brother, Michael Woodiel of Hamshire and grandchildren, Khristin, Rachael, Hailey, Leslie, Maghan, Madison, Victoria, Erricka, Joel and Cody, as well as great-grandchildren, Shyenne, Dustin, Logan, Cayzlie, Dalton, Bailey, Elizabeth, Seslee, Roper, Rowdy, Candon and Cadlie.
