Wanda Gwin Hill

Funeral services for Wanda Hill, age 60, of Centerville, will be held at 10 A.M., Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Pastor Phil Smith will officiate the service, and interment will follow in the Brushy Cemetery located in the Flo Community of Leon County, Texas. Visitation is scheduled for 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Thursday, April 12th at the funeral home.

Wanda Gwin Hill was born March 2, 1958 in Fairfield, Texas to Howard & Maxine (Bell) Lee. She married Jim Hill on May 23, 1975 and spent nearly forty-three wonderful years together as man and wife. Wanda helped at the Hill family ranch for years, as well as, working at Dairy Queen for six years. However, her most important job was that of mother and grandmother. Wanda dearly cared for all three of her children and eleven grandchildren. She was always in attendance of each and every sports and school event in which they participated. Family was the most important part of Wanda’s life. Wanda enjoyed photography, scrapbooking, extreme couponing and cherished family visits to the beach. She was a lifelong resident of Leon County and attended the Cowboy Church of Leon County. Wanda passed away April 8, 2018 at her home in Centerville following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Lee and sister, Lana Lee.

Surviving family members include husband of forty-two years, Jim Hill; sons & daughter-in-law, Lynn Hill and Jeff & Mandy Hill; daughter & son-in-law, JoBeth & Stephen Brent and grandchildren, Michael Hill, Starlyn Hill, Hayleigh Pizzitola, Meagan Hill, Makayla Hill, Jayden Hill, Jordyn Hill, Lexi Brent, Lana Brent, Logan Brent and Liberty Brent. Wanda is also survived by mother, Maxine Lee; sisters, Sonja Boyd and Tracey Kays; brother, Keith Lee and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
