William Thomas "Billy" Barbee

William Thomas "Billy" Barbee, 77, of Centerville, Texas passed away on August 10, 2023 in Bryan, Texas. He was born to John Edwin and Mattie Isabell (Barlow) Barbee on January 10, 1946 in Houston, Texas.  Billy proudly served his country in the United States Army and later in the Army Reserves.  He was also a valued member of the local American Legion in Centerville, Texas.

Billy was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Marion Barbee; son, William Thomas "Tommy" Barbee; brother, Kenneth Wayne Barbee; and sister, Rebecca Williamson. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Erwin of Centerville, Texas; grandchildren, Tyler Shannon (Memorie) of Taylor, Texas, Rebecca Barbee of Centerville, Texas and Micaela Erwin (Michael Johnson) of College Station, Texas; great-grandchild, Kyle Shannon; sisters, Judy Barbee (boyfriend, Doug Thompson) of Blanco, Texas, Cindy Niermann of Conroe, Texas and Pookie Brown (Bobby) of Centerville, Texas; dogs, Birdie, Tuffy and Little Bit; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Billy was a sweet man who loved to give big hugs, talking, and lending a hand to anyone in need. He cherished his family by being a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Centerville was his home. He proudly served his community and was a member of The American Legion Post 335. Billy was a faithful member of the Cowboy Church of Leon County where he served in the chuck wagon and security teams. Billy was a very happy man, especially when driving his red tractor.

A memorial service for Billy will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Cowboy Church of Leon County. Pastor Tuffy Loftin will officiate the service.
