Betty Sue Manning, age 78, of Porter, Texas entered into rest June 26, 2022 in Humble, Texas. She was born May 26, 1944 in Rusk, Texas to Bascom & Rachel (Grubbs) Owens. She was married to Billy Joe Manning of Centerville, Texas. She worked as a secretary for Big B Gas for eighteen years before retirement. She went on to love and raise many.
Betty was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband of twenty-five years; brothers, B.J., B.L. and B.D. Owens; son-in-law, Timmy Moran and a granddaughter, Carity Carnahan.
Surviving family members include daughters, Belinda Holmes, Cynthia Holmes, Deborah McNeese and Brenda Gail Manning; brother & sister-in-law, B.I. & Fredene Owens; sister, Bonnie Owens Vest; sisters-in-law, Sara Owens and Beverly Owens; grandchildren, Misty (husband, Willie), Eric, Maranda (husband, Yonis), Joshua, Ashley (husband, Donavan) and Kalyn; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Timmy, Fletcher, Kylie, Kolton, Kyndell, Kayden, Adrianna, Adriane, Destiny, Kenleigh, Alexis, Daniel, Nathaniel, Eden, Javen, Asher, Kaydence, Kensley, Nikkolas and Leonel. Betty is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services for Betty will be held 12 Noon, Friday, July 1, 2022 at New Salem Cemetery Chapel in the Centerview Community of Leon County, Texas. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place that morning from 11:00 A.M. to service time at the chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
