It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carolyn Joan Griffin, who departed this life peacefully on May 28, 2025, at the age of 88 in Fairfield, Texas. Born on August 10, 1936, in Greggton, Texas, Carolyn was the cherished daughter of Emerson A. and Edith (Bertrand) Burroughs.

Carolyn devoted her professional life to the banking industry, proudly serving as a teller at the Harrisburg Bank in Houston, Texas, for seventeen years. In 1996, she relocated to Centerville, Texas, where she became a founding member of the Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church, contributing her faith and spirit to the community around her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommie Griffin, and her daughter, Terrie Swiger, as well as both of her parents. Carolyn is survived by her devoted daughter, Jobi Steil, and her loving sister, Frances Girdler, who will cherish her memory dearly.

In reverence and honor of Carolyn's life, a memorial service will be held 10 A.M., Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church, Centerville, Texas, bringing together family and friends to celebrate and remember the remarkable woman she was.

May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
