Carolyn Ruth Wells

Carolyn Wells came into her earthly home on June 22, 1942 in Harlingen, Texas to loving parents Mildred and Louis Schamerhorn. She grew up in the valley and then moved to Pasadena, Texas with her parents and two brothers. After graduating high school and working at Pasadena State Bank she met her future husband, David Wells, at the Corral Drive-in. David was in the Army and visiting friends. She and David were married for 58 years and raised two wonderful children in Deer Park, Texas. She was a great homemaker who loved to keep a tidy house and her family on a schedule. Her faith in Jesus was always central to everything she did whether singing in the choir, bookkeeping, or helping make sure the church was clean and ready for Sunday service. After retirement, they moved to David's hometown of Centerville, Texas where they lived in the house on the hill.

Carolyn is preceded in death to be with her heavenly father by both of her parents and brother, Louis Royal Schamerhorn. She is survived by many family and friends; her husband, David; children, Emmitt Wells and wife, Lisa, Jennifer Harris-Manier and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Jason Wells and wife, Staci, Kara Salliotte and husband, Sam; Eryn Harris, Cole Harris and Kailyn Manier and great-grandchildren, Arielle Salliotte, Logan Wells, Lincoln Wells, and Jude Salliotte.

A funeral service for Carolyn will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, December 31, 2022 at New Salem Cemetery Chapel. Bro. James Rosier will officiate the service. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place from 10 A.M. until service time.
