Christina Ruth Tindell

Christina (Collins) Tindell, 52, passed away on August 29, 2026.

Christina was loving, creative, curious, funny, strong-willed, and wonderfully spontaneous. She possessed a childlike sense of wonder and a wild heart, felt life deeply, and had a personality entirely her own. She had a way of making ordinary moments memorable and left those who knew her with stories they will tell for years to come.

Christina loved music, swimming, painting, arts and crafts, cooking, and baking. She was an exceptional bread maker, made wonderful gumbo, and was especially known for her tamales. Feeding the people she loved was one of the many ways she cared for them, and many happy memories were made around her table.

She was endlessly curious about the world and loved a good conversation. Christina could talk for hours about family stories, life’s mysteries, and just about anything that captured her imagination. She loved laughter, adventure, and the little things that made life interesting.

Christina also loved having her hair fixed, wearing her makeup, and starting the morning with a good cup of coffee. Even during difficult days in the hospital, having her hair done and a little lip gloss could make her feel more like herself. She took pride in being put together—it was simply part of being Christina.

Above all, Christina loved her family. Her husband, Brian Tindell, was not only her husband but also her best friend and constant companion. She loved her children deeply and treasured the family and friends who shared her life.

Christina carried an enduring love for her son, Mark Anthony Hess Jr., who preceded her in death. During her final days, Christina spoke of being ready to see Mark and her Granny Ruthie in Heaven. Her faith gave her hope that they would be waiting for her, and those who loved her can find comfort in believing the reunion she longed for has finally come.

Christina was preceded in death by her beloved son, Mark Anthony Hess Jr.; her mother, Connie Smith; her paternal grandfather, C.R. Collins; and her paternal grandmother, Mabel Ruth Collins.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Tindell of Victoria, Texas; her children, Troy Hess of Centerville, Texas and Adrienne Hendrix of New Boston, Texas; her father, Mark Collins of Centerville, Texas; her brothers, Mark Anthony Collins of Newton, Texas, Dylan Collins of Centerville, Texas and Billy Krenelka; her sisters, Tracy Smith of Newton, Texas, Casey Axum of Centerville, Texas and Mindy Brown; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.

Christina’s life was so much more than its final chapter. Her story remains in the people she loved, the meals made around her table, the things created by her hands, the music she enjoyed, the laughter she caused, and the memories she left behind.

There is an idea in Alice in Wonderland about a person’s “muchness”—that special quality that makes someone unmistakably themselves.

Christina possessed that muchness in abundance.

And because of that, the world will forever be a little less muchier without her in it.

Her earthly chapter is complete, but the love, laughter, stories, and memories she left behind are not. Christina will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all those fortunate enough to have known and loved her.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Christina's life will be held 11 A.M., Friday, September 4, 2026, at North Creek Cemetery. Sal & Bobbye Gonzales will officiate the service.
