Funeral services for Cindy Bilsing of Normangee, Texas, will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, September 19, 2026, at First Methodist Church Normangee officiated by Pastor Kelley Sexton and Pastor Bo Bilsing.  Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Normangee.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., Friday, September 18, 2026, at First Methodist Church Normangee.

Cindy was born on August 2, 1962, in Normangee to parents, Dr. William A. Bilsing II and Shirley (Goike) Bilsing and passed away at her home on September 10, 2026.

Cindy attended Normangee ISD and graduated as a proud Normangee Panther. After high school, she attended Texas A&M University and graduated with her Masters in Horticulture.

Cindy’s love of horticulture reached far past her degree and overflowed into the many plants, flowers, and gardens she brought to life. She also loved fishing, cooking, laughing, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends.

While she wore many hats throughout her life, none brought her greater joy than being a mother. She was blessed with her son, Bernard “Bernie” Smith, and later her daughter, Anna Elisabeth Smith, whom she adored with all her heart. Although Anna preceded her in death on August 28, 2011, Cindy carried her daughter's memory in her heart every day. She later welcomed sons, Eli and Asa Bartnett, her third and fourth pride and joy. Cindy's children were the center of her world, and nothing meant more to her than being their mother. She celebrated their accomplishments, supported them through life's challenges, and loved them unconditionally.

Cindy was a force, a character, and truly one of a kind. She loved fiercely, lived boldly, and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. There will never be another Cindy Bilsing, and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Cindy was preceded in death by her daughter, Anna Elisabeth Smith; parents, Dr. William A. Bilsing II and Shirley; second husband, Mike McKinzie; and niece, Tammy Bilsing.

She is survived by her sons, Bernard J. Smith & Victoria, Eli Bartnett and Asa Bartnett; siblings, Billy & Kay Bilsing, Steve & Arleen Bilsing, Kathryn Bilsing, Steve Tenalio, Dean & Tracy Bilsing, Sherry Bilsing-Graham & Mark Graham, Paul Bilsing & Mary Rucker, and Michael & Amber Ray; step-sons, Austin Bartnett & Ashley and Tyler Bartnett & Tori along with their children; father of Bernie and Anna and close friend, Brian Smith; father of Eli and Asa and close friend, Robby Bartnett; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cindy will be escorted to her final resting place by pallbearers, Bert Bilsing, Adam Bilsing, Andrew Bilsing, Sam Bilsing, Hugo Bilsing, and Todd Butler.
