Funeral services for Clarence Voisin, age 87, of Buffalo, Texas, will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Billy Bob Evans will officiate the service. Interment with military honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corps will follow the service at the Russell Cemetery. A public visitation will take place on Saturday, February 18th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Clarence Alfred Voisin was born on June 7, 1929 in Houston, Texas to Samuel Clarence Nolte & Ora Belle Voisin. He made his living working as a retail salesman. Clarence sold and serviced vending machines, juke boxes, pool tables, and pin ball machines. Playing cards and dominoes were his favorite hobbies, as well as poker and reading the occasional western. Clarence loved children and was known to give them a one dollar bill as a gift. He had lived in the Buffalo area for the past sixty years.
Clarence passed away on February 13, 2017 in Teague, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie (McLeod) Voisin: son, Tommie Alfred Voisin and step-father, Buck Choate. Surviving family members include son, Billy Jim Brotherton (Tina) of Freestone; daughters, Sheri Reed (David) of Fairfield, Jill Robinson (Glenn) of Donie and Carla Ann Freeman of Waco; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; thirteen step-great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Clarence is also survived by his brother-in-law Johnny McLeod (Hilda) of Fairfield; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Phylis Hayes and her children, Sandy Murphy, Linda Ryan, and Sadie Jo Vaughn.
Pallbearers will be Will Brotherton, Travis Brotherton, Marshall Robinson, Michael Fulmer, Kyle Freeman, James Reed and Kerry Lilman Gibson. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Maxwell and Joey Red Winters.
The family of Clarence Voisin would like to extend their sincere thanks to all of the staff of Virginias Hospice, Copper Creek Nursing Home, Fairfield Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Teague Nursing Home, as well as, Dr. Michael Orms for their excellent care.
