Clayton Charles “Chas” Lynn, Jr., affectionately known as Chas, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2026, in Bryan, Texas, at the age of 45. Born on May 11, 1981, in Corsicana, Texas, Chas lived a life defined by kindness, humility, quiet strength, and an unwavering love for the people and animals who meant the most to him.

Chas found joy in life’s simple blessings. He had a special place in his heart for rescuing neglected animals, caring for his beloved chickens, and spending time outdoors. Colorado and its mountains were where his soul felt most at peace, and he often spoke of one day returning to the place he loved so dearly. Some of his happiest memories were made crappie and bass fishing alongside his stepfather, Eddie, spending quiet days on the water together.

Above all, Chas loved his family. He shared an extraordinary bond with his mother, Paula, and throughout his life he was her rock—her source of strength, comfort, and unwavering support. Their love for one another was unconditional and will forever remain one of the greatest blessings of their lives.

Chas was a proud father and an adoring Pop Pop. His grandchildren, Weston and Lainey, were the light of his life, and nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with them. While Chas sometimes found it difficult to express his love in ways others could always see, there was never any doubt about the depth of his love for his children—Corbin, Conner, Chasidy, Emma, Bryan, and Makayla. He spoke of them often, missed them deeply, and carried them in his heart every day. His love for them was far greater than they may have ever realized, and he was immensely proud to be their father.

Chas is survived by his mother and stepfather, Paula and Eddie Gonzales; his siblings, Cody Lynn, Cassie Vacante, and Carly Lynn; his children and stepchildren, Corbin Lynn, Conner Lynn, Chasidy Lynn, Emma Lynn, Bryan Tourville, and Makayla Sadecky; his beloved grandchildren, Weston and Lainey; and many extended family members and friends whose lives were forever touched by his kindness.

He is also survived by his lifelong partner, best friend, and the love of his life, Tracie Waters. Chas loved and adored Tracie with all his heart and looked forward to spending the rest of his life by her side. Their relationship was built on unwavering love, friendship, laughter, and devotion. Through every joy and every hardship, they remained each other’s greatest source of comfort and strength.

Chas also shared a special bond with Tracie’s mother, Wanda Schulz, who became family to him. They spent countless hours together watching Family Feud, laughing over life’s unexpected moments, and having heartfelt conversations about faith and Chas’s relationship with the Lord. Those memories of laughter, love, and meaningful conversations will forever be cherished.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Charles Lynn, Sr.; his grandmother, Joan Hennesey; and his grandparents, Paul Hennesey, Eugene Gore, and Edith Gore.

A memorial service celebrating Chas’s life will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.  Pastor Jack Smith, of Calvary Christian Center, will officiate the service.

Chas will be remembered for his gentle heart, quiet spirit, selfless nature, and the unconditional love he gave to those fortunate enough to know him. Whether rescuing an animal, casting a fishing line, enjoying the peace of the mountains, laughing with family, or simply sitting with those he loved, Chas found beauty in life’s simplest moments. Though he never sought recognition, his kindness left a lasting mark on countless lives.

His memory will live on in every mountain view, every peaceful morning on the lake, every chicken in the yard, every rescued animal, every shared laugh, and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love him. Though deeply missed, he will never be forgotten.
