David Guy Moncrief, beloved husband and son, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2023. He was born on April 5, 1939, in Beaumont, Texas, to his loving parents, Carl Moncrief, Sr. and Bess (Davis) Moncrief. David lived his life with passion and dedication, leaving behind a lasting impact on those who knew him.
David excelled academically, earning an Associate's Degree in Chemistry. He pursued his passion for chemistry and spent his career as a chemist in the chemical industry, working for Allied Chemical. David's determination and expertise made him highly respected among his colleagues and peers.
Outside of his professional life, David's true joy was found in the loving relationship he shared with his wife, Jan Moncrief. Their unwavering bond was a testament to their deep love and mutual support.
David will always be remembered for his warm smile and kind heart. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his quick wit, which could bring a smile to anyone's face. He had a remarkable ability to make those around him feel valued and appreciated.
In his free time, David loved any and all types of antique and vintage toy cars. This became his passion as he was known as the "Texas Toy Man." His business in the toy industry grew and he eventually started shipping the toys internationally.
David leaves behind cherished memories and an everlasting legacy. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Jan; daughters, Toya (Moncrief) Creel, Monica Rogers, and Christie Lout; son, Root Bradford; brother, Dr. Jack Moncrief (Jerry); seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and brother, Carl Moncrief, Jr.
A memorial service will be held in honor of David's life on November 14, 2023, at 1:30 P.M., at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas, officiated by Bro. Glenn Connor, of Elwood Baptist Church.
David's departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to live on in the memories and hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
