Deneau Duck, age 63, of Centerville, Texas, passed away on September 23, 2026, in Bryan, Texas. She was born on April 25, 1963, in Madisonville, Texas, to parents, John F. & Mayme Pearl (Bell) Ellis.

Deneau will be remembered as a laid-back, easy-going woman whose greatest joy in life was her family. She attended Centerville ISD and spent much of her life rooted in the Centerville community she called home. For more than seventeen years, she worked off and on for Country Cousins Bar-B-Que, where she was part of a familiar local tradition.

Family was at the heart of Deneau’s life. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, who were her greatest accomplishment and a constant source of happiness. She loved them dearly and treasured every opportunity to be with them. She made it a priority to be present for their school activities, continuing to show up for them with love and devotion even during illness. That steady presence will be remembered with deep gratitude by those who knew how much her love meant.

She also enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life sweet. Deneau was close with her family and loved spending time together. In her younger years, she enjoyed trips to the lake and dancing at the old SPJST lodge in Centerville, memories that remain a cherished part of the life she lived.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Duck and his wife, Nicki, of Centerville and her daughter, April Dillon and Brandon Bland of Centerville.  She will always be remembered as "NaNa" by her beloved grandchildren, Aiden Duck, Remington Duck, Gracie Duck, Emma Dillon, Callan Dillon, and Newt Duck; and her great-grandson, Waylon Duck.  Deneau is also survived by special cousins, Jamie Bell, Dewayne Bell, Randy Langley, and Trenda Pate, as well as numerous other extended family and special friends.  She leaves behind a family who knew her love well and who will carry her memory forward in the everyday moments she held so dear.

Deneau was preceded in death by her husband, Mac Duck; her father, John F. Ellis; her mother, Mayme Pearl (Bell) Ellis; her brothers, Johnny Ellis and Jim Ellis; and her sister, Sandra Ellis.

A memorial service honoring Deneau's life will be held on October 1, 2026, at 6 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas 75833.

Deneau’s life was marked by love for her family, quiet strength, and faithful presence. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
