With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Don Allen Rossow, who departed this life peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on October 19, 1944, in Gonzales, Texas, to John Richard and Mildred Alice (Froehner) Rossow, Don lived a life characterized by dedication, passion, and love for his family and community.
Don was an esteemed electrical contractor, devoting nearly sixty years to his craft. He exemplified the virtues of hard work and craftsmanship, leaving a legacy in the buildings that bear his touch. On December 10, 1965, Don married his beloved sweetheart, Evelyn Rutledge, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love throughout their years together.
A man of many interests, Don reveled in the splendor of the outdoors. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and clearing his land, embracing the tranquility and beauty that nature offered. His vegetable gardening and tree planting reflected his nurturing spirit and commitment to the environment. Don was proud to support organizations such as Ducks Unlimited and was an active member of the IBEW and The Gideons International.
An avid sports enthusiast, Don had an unwavering passion for all sports, particularly for Houston Astros Baseball. His devotion to his family was unparalleled; he cherished each moment spent with loved ones. Don often expressed his fondness for flowers, embodying the gentle and caring nature he brought to all aspects of life.
Don was preceded in death by both of his parents and sister, Darlene Lowman (Al). He is survived by his devoted wife, Evelyn Rossow, whose love and partnership were his foundation and strength; children, Travis Rossow (Janet) of Danbury and Lynette Rossow-Parks of Montgomery; grandchildren, Amanda Marie Gadison of Dallas, Tyler David Pagett of Angleton, Peyton Reese Parks (Inna) of Conroe, and Justin Ryan Rossow (Lauryn) of Danbury; and great-grandchildren, Kaison Noah Pagett and Roy Marshall Gadison. Don's enduring legacy will also carry on through numerous extended family members and special friends.
A memorial service to honor the life of Don Allen Rossow will be held at the First Baptist Church, Centerville, Texas on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 2 PM. Pastor of the church, Tony Moye, as well as pastor of First Baptist Church, Kerrville, Texas, John Wheat, will officiate the service. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating the remarkable legacy of a man whose heart and spirit touched so many.
In this time of remembrance, let us reflect on the enduring impact of Don's life - a life well-lived, rich in love, laughter, and community. May he rest in eternal peace.
