Donna Gale Smith

Donna Gale (Parker) Smith was born October 27, 1942 in Houston, Texas to William Alford & Mary Elizabeth Parker. After graduating High School at Galena Park, Donna attended business school where she studied bookkeeping. She moved to Centerville in 1987, to live on the family ranch with the love of her life Bobby Smith and their two children Verna and Hal. Donna enjoyed her rides on the buggy checking the cows and frequently fishing in the ponds until her health started to decline. She loved her title of “Granny” as her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren called her. When she spoke about her family, you knew just how proud she was that they were hers. Donna had a love of gardening. She enjoyed working outside planting and taking care of her flowers. She worked as a bookkeeper for Crockett Farm and Fuel all the way up until God called her home. Donna was ushered into heaven surrounded by her family at Scott and White Hospital in College Station, Texas on July 31, 2022.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Smith, and both parents William Alford and Mary Elizabeth Parker. She is survived by her daughter Verna Fritsche (Gary) of Bryan, son Hal Smith (Shawn) of Centerville, grandchildren Rebecca (Michael) Blackburn, Ashlee Smith, Korey Smith, Jordan (Haleigh) Fritsche , great grandchildren Hadley Holt, Caden Holt, Miya Rackley, Reagan Fritsche, and her special companion Fancy.

Funeral services for Donna Smith, age 79, of Centerville, Texas will be held at 10 am, Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Cowboy Church of Leon County, Centerville, Texas. Pastor Tuffy Loftin will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the family cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, August 5th from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Cowboy Church of Leon County, Centerville, Texas.
