Doyle Wayne Patterson

Doyle Wayne Patterson, age 88, of Centerville, Texas passed away at his residence in Centerville, Texas July 8, 2023. A funeral service honoring his life will be held 1 P.M., Friday, July 14, 2023 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Rev. Jim Jackson will officiate the service. Mr. Patterson will be laid to rest in Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

Doyle was born August 28, 1934 in Enloe, Delta County, Texas to Delbert & Nona (Mullins) Patterson. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy just as the Korean War was ending. Doyle retired as a supervisor and plant manager from a rubber company in the Houston area. He had lived in Centerville for the past twelve years enjoying most of that time tending to his vegetable garden and canning vegetables. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Madisonville and a proud member of the American Legion in Centerville, Texas. When he met his best friend and companion, Karen, her family soon became his adopted family. They all shared many wonderful hours together laughing and enjoying each other's company.

Doyle was preceded in death by both of his parents and wife, Genivive Patterson. He is survived by companion, Karen Peters of Centerville; sisters, Nancy Loving of Alvin and Judy Meister of Pearland; and his adopted family, Lori (Joey) Gunn of Deer Park, Danielle (Chuck) Stafford of Deer Park, Eliot (Melissa) Smith of Tomball, Josh Williams, Ethan Smith, and Shay Gunn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are kindly requested to the Centerville American Legion.
