Earl Lee Dolifka, Jr. graced this world with his presence on August 28, 1948, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, leaving us peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Centerville, Texas, surrounded by the love of his dear brother and sister-in-law. He embodied warmth and joy throughout his life, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Earl dedicated an impressive forty-two years of his life working in the postal room of the Internal Revenue Service, a career that reflected not only his commitment to public service but also his steadfast reliability. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he laid the groundwork for a lifetime of connections and friendships. Earl's magnetic personality drew many into his orbit, and he formed treasured relationships particularly within the vibrant Austin music scene. He was a familiar face and a beloved figure, known for generously supporting local bands in the bustling sixty and seventies, a testament to his passion for the arts and community engagement.

He had a zest for life that extended beyond his work. Earl was a founding team member and sponsor of the "Flying Dolifka Brothers," a slow-pitch softball team that thrived for over thirty years. His skills as an excellent pitcher contributed to countless team victories, showcasing the competitive spirit and camaraderie that he cherished deeply. Alongside his four younger brothers, the memories made on the field were cherished experiences that brought them joy and strengthened their bonds.

Earl lived most of his life in the Pflugerville area, where he created a home rich with friendships and laughter. In his later years, as his health began to decline, he moved closer to his younger brother, seeking the love and support of family. Throughout his life, Earl was blessed with the love of his family, including his surviving brothers: Richard "Rick" Dolifka of Lake Travis, Frank Dolifka and his wife, Sue, of Centerville, and Mark Dolifka and his wife, Judi, of Houston. He was adored by many nieces and nephews—Ricky, Rachel, Dawson, Emily, Jacob, Danielle, Sara, and Daniel—as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and a multitude of friends who spanned far and wide.

One of Earl's proudest accomplishments was his connection to the music world. He was often acknowledged in the credits of albums, a nod to his unwavering support of local musicians. His playful spirit shone through his very own fan club, affectionately dubbed "Earl's Girls," who delighted in serenading him regularly. Just three weeks before his passing, he made one last trip to be among them, allowing the magic of music and friendship to embrace him one final time.

Earl was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Timothy Dolifka, and both of his parents. Their absence is felt profoundly, but the love they shared continues to live on in the stories and memories woven through the lives of those left behind.

As we celebrate the life of Earl Lee Dolifka, Jr., we remember a man whose joy was infectious, whose love for music was unmatched, and whose heart had an infinite capacity to love and support others. Earl's spirit will linger on in the hearts of all who knew him, reminding us to cherish our connections, celebrate our passions, and, above all, embrace life with a smile as exhibited in the kind remarks left by some of those who knew him....

"The greatest true friend and patron saint of live music in Austin, has passed over to the other side. He gave his heart and devotion to the music and musicians of this Live Music Capital. I met him for the first time in 1974, and it seemed that we never played in or near Austin without his love and support in abundant supply. Every musician I know from those days has about the same recollection of his unswerving passion and loyalty to the very idea of live music. He didn't jump, shout or dance. He just picked a spot and listened. Somewhere in Heaven, a band is saying, "Earl's here, we can start."

"He did start dancing when he would go to the New World Deli in Austin to the Beatle Bash and the Earl's girls would surround him."

"One of the most sweetest, kindest spirits I had ever had the pleasure of meeting."

"Earl was an original, and will be missed."

"Earl was a true Austin original who captured the real spirit of its music."

"Earl had a deep well of kindness and conversation, always with a twinkle in his eyes. I count myself lucky to have crossed his path."

A memorial service to celebrate Earl's life will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at LIFEChurch in Leona, Texas. Pastor of the church, Mark Gray, will officiate the service.

Final arrangements are under the direction of the dedicated staff of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas - A Walters Family Funeral Home.
