Homegoing services for Evelyn Jones will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Mrs. Jones will be laid to rest in Two Mile Cemetery, Leona, Texas.

Evelyn L. (Polk) Jones was born November 12, 1933 in Leona, Texas to the parentage of Willie Polk, Sr. and Everlene Davis.

She was baptized and went to grade school in Leona, Texas.

Later, in 1940, Mrs. Jones moved to Fort Worth, Texas where she met and married Joseph Jones. To this union was born Charles Jones.

Later the family moved back to Leona, Texas where she joined Wilson Chapel C.O.G.I.C. under the pastorate of C.D. Evans. She worked as a caregiver most of her life.

Mrs. Jones passed away August 13, 2022 at the Centerville Healthcare Center. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, five brothers and five sisters.

She will be forever cherished in the hearts of her son, Charles Jones; a special nephew, Larry Polk of Leona and Tracy Jackson; sister, Myrtle Polk of Leona; Rodest Robinson and Elois King; brothers, Bennie, Douglas, Charlie and Samuel Polk, all of Dallas; special friend, Betty Jean West and a host of nieces and nephews.
