Homegoing services for Florence West Washington, 70, will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Pastor Michael Washington will officiate the service and interment will follow in Pleasant Springs Cemetery in the Pleasant Springs Community of Leon County, Texas. A brief visitation will be held prior to the service Saturday from 9 A.M. to service time at the funeral home.

Florence West Washington was born June 10, 1950 in Centerville, Texas to Beal & Myrtie Brown. She was raised in the Pleasant Springs Community and graduated from Fredrick Douglas High School in Centerville. Florence lived in Houston most of her life where she worked as a sub-contractor for NASA for twenty-eight years. She enjoyed going to the casinos and absolutely adored her three grandchildren. Florence was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Houston and had lived in Willis, Texas for the past four years to be near her family.

Florence passed away March 12, 2021 in The Woodlands, Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Elmer G. Washington and two sisters, Vera Mae Brown and Jacquelin Berkley. Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Stephanie Jean (Kenneth) Bradford of Willis, Lakesha Renee Washington of Willis and Brandy Sheree Washington of Willis and grandchildren, Brea Rigsby, Jayla Montgomery and Brailee Washington. Florence is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
