Frances Lea Vest, 84, passed away peacefully February 18, 2021, at her home in Leona, Texas. She was born Frances Lea Cleere February 9, 1937, in Corsicana, Texas to Guy Cleere and Myrtle Marie (McCauley) Morgan. Frances married her husband, Cecil Wallace Vest, February 12, 1954, and they shared sixty-seven wonderful years together. Their union in holy matrimony granted Frances & Cecil three sons, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Frances was very strong and unwavering in her Christian faith. Her favorite passage in the bible was Psalm Twenty-Three. She was adored by each of her children and grandchildren and, equally so, Frances treasured every member of her beloved family. For many years each summer, she and Cecil would take their six grandchildren on a “Cousin’s Week,” where many fond memories were formed that won’t soon be forgotten. Frances had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her garden, as well as, reading a good book.
Frances was preceded in death by mother, Marie Morgan; father, Guy Cleere; brothers, Fred & James Cleere and sister, Violet Cox. Her legacy of love lives on in husband, Cecil W. Vest of Leona; sons, Cecil L. (Kim) Vest of Midland, Dwayne Vest of Dallas and Steve (Christine) Vest of Leona; daughter-in-law, Laura Vest; grandchildren, C.J. (Kelsey) Vest, Keith (Kristi) Vest, Zachry Vest, Matthew Vest, Nicole (Russell) Simpson and Andrew Vest and eight great-grandchildren. Frances is also survived by sister, Gloria (Robert) Treadwell; brother, Beldon (Bobleta) Cleere; sister-in-law, Dorothy Cleere and numerous nieces and nephews.
