A funeral service for Mr. Homer Bobbit will be held 3:30 P.M., Friday, January 28, 2022, at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Interment will follow in North Creek Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Burleson will officiate the service.

Homer Houston Bobbit, Jr., age 75, of Freeport, Texas passed away January 24, 2022, in Lake Jackson, Texas. He was born December 31, 1946 to Thomas and Estelle (Robbins) Newsom in Weches, Texas. Homer retired as a guard from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after thirty years of service. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Clute, Texas and enjoyed watching western movies, especially John Wayne movies. Raising Foundation Quarter Horses and traveling to Wyoming and Montana were also pastime activities.

Homer is survived by a son, Thomas Gragert of Oyster Creek; sister, Cheryl Bobbit of Freeport; brother, Daniel Newsom (Sharon) of Wharton; grandchildren, Kristen Gragert and Grady Gragert, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers: Dale Goodin, Johnny Gledden, Jared Gleeden, Daniel Newsom, Colby Cryon and Roy Blackstock.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
