Jack was born on August 24, 1940 in Centerville, Texas to Charles and Robbie (Johnson) Bain. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim, Robert, Kenny, John and Wayne; and sisters, Mary, Lillie and Billie.

Jack leaves his wife, Shirley Mae (Parker) Bain of Centerville, Texas; sons, Bobby W. Burleson (Tina) of Centerville, Texas, Billy R. Burleson (Sarah) of Trinity, Texas, and Jay W. Bain (Tammy) of Midlothian, Texas; daughter Christine E. Boren (Martin) of Centerville, Texas; sisters, Dorothy Pate and Patsy Ragland; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jack married Shirley on March 3,1962, and lived in Lancaster, Texas raising their four children. Jack worked for Lone Star Gas Company in Dallas, Texas for thirty-seven years. He started at the Gas Company as a mechanic, then became a supervisor and eventually a manager. Once Jack retired, he and Shirley moved back to Centerville, Texas to remain in his hometown. Jack loved his family, cows, chickens, farming, his garden and being a jack of all trades.

A funeral service honoring the remarkable life of Jack Wesley Bain, age 86, of Centerville, Texas, will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Wayne Bell will officiate the service. Jack will be laid to rest in New Salem Cemetery, Centerview, Leon County, Texas.

A time of visitation and remembrance will take place prior to the service from 9 A.M. to service time at the funeral home.
