Jalen Rashad McDuffie was born December 6, 1998 in The Woodlands, Texas to parents, Artie McDuffie, Sr. & Nanette (Lankford) McDuffie, the youngest of four siblings. He lived most of his young life in Huntsville where he was a graduate of Huntsville High School.
Jalen played basketball and football when he was younger and later enjoyed playing video games and socializing with his friends and family. He also loved to sing. Jalen had attended Lone Star College where he studied Pre-Med and had been employed at T.D.C.J. He also enjoyed his job at Wildcat Industries and liked volunteering his time at the Covenant With Christ Food Bank helping others less fortunate than himself.
Jalen tragically passed away early Tuesday morning, June 3, 2020 in a Conroe, Texas hospital at the age of twenty-one years. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lee Lankford.
Those left to cherish his memory are mother, Nanette (Lankford) McDuffie of Huntsville; father, Artie McDuffie, Sr. of Cleveland; brother, A.J. McDuffie of Houston; sisters, NaTesha Sanders (Cale) of Porter, Chassity McCoy of Huntsville, Sonya Hearne of Houston and Moniesha McDuffie of Conroe and maternal grandmother, Oletha Marie Lankford of Centerville, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Homegoing services for Jalen will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Burial will follow in Spring Creek Cemetery, west of Centerville. A visitation will take place Friday, June 5th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
