JoAnn Miller was born on February 6, 1930 in San Antonio, Texas to Charles & Willo Ethel (Kelly) Ruble. She and her late husband, Claude, lived in Houston, Texas until he retired from Southern Pacific Railroad. They later moved to Onalaska, Texas. JoAnn had worked as a hospital administrator and enjoyed painting in oils. After her husband’s passing she moved to Centerville, in 2006, to be near her family. JoAnn was Baptist in faith. She passed away on October 28, 2017 in Huntsville, Texas.
JoAnn was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband of fifty-seven years, Claude Miller; brother, Charles Ruble and sister-in-law, Margie Ruble. She is survived by son, Michael Miller (Roberta) of League City; daughters, Paulette Rappolee (Dickie) of Centerville and Marcia Milliken (Richard) of Crosby; brother & sister-in-law, Melvin Miller (Ruth) of Channelview; sister-in-law, Dee Dee Thigpen of San Antonio; special person in JoAnn's life, Pat Ruble (Stephen) of San Antonio and numerous nieces and nephews. JoAnn is also survived by grandchildren, Mandy, Scott, Steven, Krissi, Jennifer and Linzi; great grandchildren, Eric, Cole, Caleb, Cooper, Joshua, Hunter, Emily and one-on-the-way and her Boxer Dog, “Bernie.”
Funeral services for JoAnn Miller will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Pastor Tuffy Loftin and Bro. David Shiflett will officiate the service. A private interment will be held at a later date in the Houston National Cemetery. A public visitation will take place on Monday, October 30th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
