Kevin Rawley passed away on October 21, 2023, at the age of 65. He was surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Centerville, TX, where he resided for many years.


Born on July 22, 1958, Kevin brought joy and laughter into the lives of those around him. He was a deeply caring and compassionate husband to his devoted spouse, Lana Rawley, who shared in his life's journey and was by his side until his final moments. Their love was truly remarkable and served as an inspiration to all who knew them.


Kevin had a passion for the outdoors and found solace in the tranquility of fishing. Many cherished memories were made as he spent countless hours casting his line, embracing the beauty of nature. He found great joy in teaching his grandchildren the art of fishing, passing on his love for the sport to future generations.


Throughout his life, Kevin's skilled hands and creative spirit guided his career as a custom carpenter. He approached his work with dedication and craftsmanship, leaving behind a legacy of beautifully crafted pieces that bear witness to his talent. His attention to detail and commitment to excellence were truly admirable.


In his leisure time, Kevin would often find amusement and enjoying the solitude and mental challenge of playing solitaire. Engrossed in the game, he would spend hours, finding respite within the unfolding patterns before him.


Kevin's spirit of service extended to his time in the United States Army, where he proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division. His bravery and commitment to his country are a testament to his unwavering dedication and love for the nation he called home.


Kevin was preceded in death by both of his parents and mother & father-in-law, Sylvia & Melvin Gibson. Those left to cherish Kevin's memory are wife, Lana Rawley of Centerville; son, Jeremy Moore (Ashley) of Brazoria; daughter, Kimberli Hill of Centerville; brother, Kyle Rawley of Churchill; sisters, Kathleen Andree of Alaska and Karla Keith of Lake Jackson; beloved grandchildren, Colton Dickey (Makayla), Shelby Moore, Landen Grable, Jaycelyn Chupp (Mason), Colbi Hill, Brody Moore, Kash Moore, Colt Conrad, Alyssa Clarke and Jeremiah Clarke and great-grandchildren, Lainey Dickey, Lyndie Dickey, Ayla Arriaga and Kaysen Robinson. Kevin will also be fondly remembered by brothers-in-law, Marty and Randy Gibson, both of Freeport and extended family, Shanna Clarke and Tina Pierce, as well as numerous friends.


A funeral service to honor and celebrate Kevin's life will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Victory Baptist Church at 2 P.M. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery. Bro. Jim Bob Gunnels and Bro. Bo Gunnels will officiate the service. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. to offer their condolences and share their memories.


As we remember Kevin Rawley, we are reminded of his gentle spirit, his unwavering dedication, and his warm-heartedness. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory forever live on in our hearts.
