Larry Wayne Harden

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Wayne Harden, who left this world peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on November 23, 1947, in Elkton, Tennessee, to Ed & Ora Ann (Hardy) Harden. Larry was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and loving brother.

Larry was preceded in death by both of his parents and siblings, George, James, Louie, Gene, Margie, Lucille, Doug, and Bill. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Harden of Marquez; children, Tara Miller of College Station, Stephen Rutledge of Wimberley, and Nathan Harden of Dallas; brother, Joe Harden (Wease) of Arlington; grandchildren, Macy Miller of Granbury and Kristen Hrozek of Tomball; as well as numerous extended family members who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. 

Larry enlisted in the U.S. Army soon after graduating high school. He worked as a weather observer providing crucial data and forecasts in-country during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Larry briefly returned to Tennessee and married Brenda Pope. Larry's job as a grocery store manager took the family to various towns across Texas and Arkansas. Larry and Brenda enjoyed reading together and going on road trips to explore small towns and historical sites. Larry appreciated spending time in nature, sharing stories of his life’s adventures, and never stopped thinking of ways to improve the grocery stores he visited.

Though we mourn his loss, we also celebrate and honor his life. His spirit carries on in his children, his grandchildren, and all who knew him.
