Red Smith, age 89, passed away September 25, 2019 at his home in Cameron, Texas. He was born Lloyd Leon Smith to Loren Leroy & Jimmie Louise (Hill) Smith February 1, 1930, in Bedias, Texas, the oldest of four sons.
Red worked as a carpenter most of his life and built beautiful homes. His goal in life was to do the best he could at what he did—and Red did just that! He had lived in North Zulch for twenty years and was a member of First Baptist Church in North Zulch. Red had resided the past two years in Cameron.
Red was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Golda (Adams) Smith and brothers, Jimmy Leroy & Arthur Wayne Smith. He is survived by brother, Jeff Smith (Lana) of Wagarville, AL; brother-in-law, Bobby Adams (Marjorie) of North Zulch; sisters-in-law, Paula Higgins of Clarksville and Mildred Dove of Cameron; niece, Kathy Newsom of Dallas and nephews, Doug Smith (Ann) of Clarksville, David Lee Smith of Jena, LA, Damon Lynn Smith (Sherri) of Jana, LA, T.J. Smith of Wagarville, AL, Steven Paul Smith of Clarksville, James Brian Smith (Rita) of Cameron and Lloyd Leon Smith of Houston, as well as best friend, Larry Hardin (Edna) of Riverside.
Funeral services for Red Smith will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Willowhole Chapel in North Zulch. Rev. Tim Rudolph will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Willowhole Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
