Louis Menotti, Jr.

August 7, 1944 — August 4, 2023

Louis Menotti, Jr. was born in Galveston, Texas on August 7, 1944 to Louis Menotti, Sr. and Eleanor Sarracco Menotti. He passed away in Centerville, Texas on Friday, August 4, 2023, at the age of 79.

Louis lived most of his life in Galveston, Texas having gone to Kerwin High School and Allen Military Academy. He worked with his father in the grocery business, then security at St. Mary's Hospital, Galveston, and later in maintenance at The University of Texas in Galveston. When Louis wasn't fishing, he was hunting, and his hunting expanded from the deer lease in Sabinal to exotic animals: elk, grizzly, moose, and caribou to name a few. He hunted in Texas; Alaska; Quebec and Alberta, Canada; British Columbia; the Yukon Territory and Africa.

He married his wife, Susan Villeret, in 1970 and they lived in Galveston, and when he retired in 2014, they moved to Centerville. He loved raising and taking care of his herd of Spanish Goats, chickens, dogs and cats. He lived the life he wanted to live. Most importantly, he loved the Lord with all his heart and soul, and he always gave all the praise and glory to God. Louis would say that he and Jesus could build and repair anything together; nothing was impossible.

Louis was preceded in death by both of his parents and Susan's parents, Lloyd and Louise Villeret of Houston, Texas. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Menotti Bolton and her husband, Virgil Bolton of Palestine, Texas and Loretta Menotti Perez of Galveston, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Susan; his daughter, Cynthia Menotti Morrison of Cleveland, Georgia; son, Richard "Brian" Smith and wife, Tracie Strickhausen Smith of Santa Fe, Texas; granddaughters, Brandy Morrison and Reagan Smith; grandson, Jonah Smith; sister, Anita Menotti Taylor of Galveston, Texas and numerous cousins throughout Texas.
