Marie Polk

Mrs. Marie (Green) Polk was born September 7, 1942, to the late Frank and Jossie (Hopkins) Green. She was baptized at an early age and united with Mt. Calm Pinetop, and later united with Sweet Zion Baptist Church, Madisonville, Texas.

Mrs. Marie Polk passed away February 1, 2026, in Madisonville, Texas following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Frank and Jossie (Hopkins) Green; three sisters, Mollie Craig, Lula Mae Sanders, and Maggie Lee “M.L.” Proctor; and two brothers, Joe Lee Green and Lawyer Green.

Left to cherish Mrs. Marie are son, Anthony Green of Madisonville, Texas; one sister, Willie Rhinehart of Ft. Worth, Texas; one special nephew, Marvin Craig; one special niece, Ruby L. Proctor Mosley of Bedias, Texas; a host of nieces and nephews, and friends; and special friend, Sister Hattie Glaze.

A homegoing service honoring Mr. Marie's life will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Burial will follow in Ward Cemetery. A brief visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10 A.M.
