Marian was the sixth child of eight born to David E. Griffith and Beatrice Irene Griffith on August 27, 1942. She grew up in New Mexico with her seven siblings.  She was preceded in death by Muriel Jean Durham, J.W. Griffith, Nay Griffith, Albert Lee Griffith, Henry Griffith and Janice Griffith, and is survived by Lloyd Griffith.

On November 11, 1958, she married the love of her life, Milton Polak, who also preceded her in death.  They shared a wonderful like together for sixty years full of love, laughter, and family.  Together, they had five children:  Tony Polak, Elizabeth Polak Vallejos, Joe Polak, Nancy Wall and Vanessa Svehlak.  She was a a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who took pride and joy in loving all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

Marian was a collector of memories; she leaves many pictures and stories to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will carry those precious memories with them and pass them on to their children.

One of her greatest accomplishments was her marriage with Milton; their love was a truly beautiful love, and will not be forgotten.  There are not a lot of marriages with both the longevity and the passion that they shared for each other, but they were so very fortunate to have had both.

Marian will be remembered for her caring spirit, and her collections of mementos and memories.

A memorial service and time of visitation with the Polak family will be held from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Friday, September 25, 2026, at Know His Grace Cowboy Church, Kerens, Texas.  There will be a dual memorial and inurnment for Milton and Marian Polak 10 A.M, Saturday, October 3, 2026, at South Park Cemetery, #D7, Roswell, New Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, the Polak family requests that memorial donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (give.bcrf.org) in Marian's name.
