Mary Ann Jones was born on November 12, 1933, in Huntsville, Texas, to Oscar Eugene & Mary Ester (Stutts) Donahoe, the youngest of five children. She was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. Mary passed away peacefully in Bryan, Texas, on December 25, 2025. Her journey through life was marked by unwavering dedication, kindness, and an infectious positivity that inspired everyone around her.
As a devoted wife and homemaker, Mary poured her heart into her family. She was not only the backbone of her household but also a steadfast support for her husband, Glenn Jones, whom she cherished deeply throughout their years together. Anyone who had the pleasure of interacting with Mary would remember her excellent telephone skills which she honed during her early career operating a telephone switchboard. Later, she embraced the role of secretary for Glenn, handling calls with a professionalism that showcased her commitment to their partnership.
Mary was a devoted and long-time member of the Church of Christ, Centerville, Texas, where lasting and meaningful relationships were cultivated with her fellow church members.
Mary's personality radiated warmth. She often reminded others to "Always see the good in every situation," a mantra that she lived by and attributed to her long and fulfilling life. Her positive outlook not only enriched her experiences but also created a nurturing environment for her family.
Her culinary skills were legendary; in her younger years she was an excellent cook who took pride in preparing three homemade meals a day for her family. Sunday gatherings were a cherished tradition, where, regardless of whether they were at home or dining out, she insisted upon enjoying a family meal together. It was during these moments that laughter echoed through her home and lasting memories were created.
A lover of nature, she found joy in birdwatching and squirrel watching, often immersing herself in the simple pleasures that the world had to offer. Shopping was another pastime she enjoyed, sometimes bringing her children along to share in the delights of everyday life.
Mary is survived by her dear sons, Michael Jones of Huntsville and Brian Jones and wife, Shelly of Centerville; loving daughter Cheryl Brown and husband, Craig of Houston; and her adored grandchildren, Krishna Mae Jones, Mackenzie Ann Jones, Makaila Lane Jones, Alexa Raynes, Karter Kornegay, Jaden Kornegay, Joseph Brown and wife, Erika, and Aaron Brown. Her great-grandchildren, Mari, Tempest, and Chariss, were also a source of immense joy for her, and she delighted in their laughter and growth.
Though she has been reunited with her beloved husband, Glenn; her son, Stephen Glenn Jones; grandson, Mark Jones; both of her parents; and all her siblings, Mary Ann's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
