Michael Wayne Burk, born on April 11, 1951, in Shelbyville, Indiana, to Robert Earl and Rosalind P. (Phares) Burk, passed away on April 10, 2025, at his home in Trinity, Texas. He lived a life dedicated to his work as an acoustic ceiling installer, a profession he took pride in throughout his career in the construction industry.

In 1977, Michael made the big move to Texas, where he spent the last fifteen years of his life in Trinity. He was a man of few words, enjoying his solitude and cherishing moments spent in the woods hunting and fishing. When he wasn’t outdoors, he often found joy in carpentry work, creating and fixing things with his hands.

Michael was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, Greg Burk and sister, Katrina Burk. He leaves behind his children, Michael Burk Jr. (Pattie) and Shana M. George (Greg); step-daughter, Tammy Lindner (Jim); siblings, Richard A. Burk, Cynthia Burk, and Kevin Burk; grandchildren, Breanna, Samantha, and Nickie; and best friend, Shane; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

In honoring Michael’s love for the outdoors, we encourage those who knew him to celebrate his life in their own way—perhaps with a quiet day in nature or a DIY project that reflects his spirit.
